Tussar silk also known as tusser, kosa or raw silk, is mainly produced in the states of West Bengal, Jharkhand and Bihar.Tussar sarees reflect the wilderness and exotic nature of the silkworms from which they are produced. Produced in lighter shades of colours like cream, beige, brown, these raw silk sarees are often dyed with darker shades to give the rich look to it.
